The palmate leaves emerge red in spring and change to green by midsummer. Showy pink samaras standout against the green summer foliage. When other fall color has faded in northern landscapes, North Wind continues the show with dramatic tones or orange and scarlet. Best if planted in a protected location. Japanese maples prefer a shady location in the afternoon.

Part of Iseli Nursery's Jack Frost collection of small to medium-sized Japanese maples that have been hybridized over the last 20 years, using Acer pseudosieboldianum as the foundation for hardiness, combined with the beauty of the branching structure and leaves of Acer palmatum.
