‘Arnold Promise’ is one of those plants to let you know that spring is not far away. It's noted for its clusters of sweetly fragrant bright yellow flowers, each with four narrow, ribbon-like crinkle petals. The blooms look a bit oriental looking. Broad-oval, green leaves. Yellow-orange to yellow fall color can be quite attractive. Deer and erosion tolerant. An introduction of the Arnold Arboretum in Boston. Arboretum horticulturist Donald Wyman called ‘Arnold Promise’ witch-hazel the “best of all in flower.”
