Bedrock Gardens is an emerging public garden that integrates unusual botanical specimens and unique sculptures into an inspiring landscape journey. This 30-acre site recently transitioned from a historic farm and private garden to a public oasis of art, horticulture and inspiration. It is located in nearby Lee, New Hampshire and they await your visit mid-May through early-October. FULLER GARDENS (North Hampton, NH)
Fuller Gardens is a non-profit, public botanical garden located on the ocean in North Hampton, New Hampshire – right off the beaten path and a world away! The formal rose gardens designed in the Colonial Revival style were commissioned during the late 1920s by Massachusetts Governor Alvan T. Fuller and designed by the Olmstead Firm as an ornament to his summer estate. The meticulously maintained rose gardens with hundreds of varieties begin their season long bloom cycle in late June and continue through October. The Japanese garden is usually in bloom in May and English the perennial plantings provide a continuous array of color and interest from spring until fall. The gardens are lined within large sculpted hedges, and the rose beds are framed in an array of superbly kept turf paths. The Gardens are open from Mothers Day through mid October, seven days a week from 10:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Please call ahead if you have any inclement weather concerns. www.fullergardens.org

MOFFATT-LADD HOUSE & GARDEN (Portsmouth, NH)
The Moffatt-Ladd House was completed in 1763. Built by John Moffatt for his son Samuel, it is a fine example of Georgian architecture. Guided tours of the museum cover the history of the Moffatt, Whipple, and Ladd families who owned the home, as well as Prince Whipple and other free and enslaved individuals who lived in and supported the home. The museum is open June 1 to October 14, 2024. Admission is $12 for adults and discounts for seniors and children. GARDEN admission alone is free during open hours which are 11 - 4 daily except Wednesday when the museum is closed. Group tours can be booded by emailing [email protected].

The 10-acre Prescott Park contains a variety of individual garden spaces, from the formal plantings around the sculptural elements of the massive waterfront anchor and Cabot Lyford’s “Whale,” to the bed of hostas along the shaded Mechanic Street edge of the garden. In between are the Liberty Gardens, beds of annuals designed and installed by City staff, including summer associates. Designed with an eye for height, color and massing, the gardens attract butterflies and other pollinators – and provide inspiration for photographers, landscapers and home gardeners. Garden tours are offered seasonally.

South Church is proud to present its 35th Annual Pocket Gardens of Portsmouth on Friday, June 21st, 5 - 8, and Saturday, June 22nd from 10 - 4, in the Little Harbor Neighborhood bounded by Miller, Middle and South Streets. As in recent tours, tickets are good for either day and the tour is held rain or shine. Purchase tickets online at portsmouthnhtickets.com for $25 each prior to the tour, or for $30 during the tour at South Church, 292 State Street, Portsmouth. Tickets are also available at Stratham Circle Nursery until the close of business on June 19th.

If you would like your garden to be included in the tour, let them know. They are encouraging other homeowners to join them for this event.
