'Autumnalis' cherry trees are a breath-taking sight to behold! Deep pink buds open to semi-double, light pink flowers in spring before the leaves emerge. The dark green leaves turn yellow in the fall. The smooth dark red bark adds an interesting dimension to the landscape. If it is a warm autumn, it's not uncommon to see sporadic flowers on the tree. It is highly tolerant of urban pollution and will even thrive in inner city environments, and will benefit from being planted in a relatively sheltered location. Be sure to plant it in a location for all to enjoy. It is a good choice for attracting birds to your yard.
