An incredibly attractive and vigorous shrub valued for its blazing red stems which glow against the winter snow. The clusters of creamy white flowers at the ends of branches in late spring. It has green foliage throughout the season, which turn an outstanding brick red in the fall. This dogwood is relatively low maintenance and can be pruned at anytime. It is a good choice for attracting butterflies and birds to your yard. The birds are attracted to the to the wonderful porcelain-blue fruit in late summer. The fruits are also ornamental. It is highly tolerant to deer, rabbits and urban pollution. This species is native to parts of North America.
