Balsam firs are a beautiful native evergreen with dark green foliage. Wonderfully scented needles give rise to upright cones. Provides cover for birds and other small mammals. It is similar to Fraser and Canaan Firs. One of the most popular Christmas trees in the northeast.  The smooth gray bark adds an interesting dimension to the landscape. Watch out for deer.
