Blue Maid is one of the hardiest of the traditional evergreen hollies. This pyramidal mounded shrub has spiny blue-green foliage and showy red berries from mid fall to late winter; requires a male pollinator in order to get the berries. This is a relatively low maintenance shrub, and is best pruned in late winter once the threat of extreme cold has passed. It is a good choice for attracting birds to your yard.
