A compact, mounding shrub with dense, fragrant, silver-gray foliage and deep bluish-purple flowers over a long blooming season. Valued for late summer to fall flowers, when little else is in bloom. The fuzzy foliage is aromatic when brushed with a hand. Very effective in large large groups or massed. Best to prune back hard in late winter/early spring. Flowers are very attractive to butterflies, bees, birds and other beneficial insects. Not particularly attractive to deer and rabbits. Also known as Bluebeard, Blue Mist and Black Knight.
