This impressive and reliable cultivar is a vigorous, upright, well-branched shrub or small tree, similar to 'Bloodgood' but has a deeper, more intense red color. The new leaves emerge a very bright pink-red in the spring before turning a deep red. The foliage becomes purple-red suffused with green by early fall. Grows 6-12" a year.
