Pinus sylvestris ‘Hillside Creeper’ is a classy creeper that spreads out and forms a flat mesa of layered branches that are covered with thick, green needles. The vigorous, hardy pine, lighter green/bluish green in winter, makes an excellent ground-covering option for banks or walls or tucked in and around boulders. Hillside Creeper Scotch Pine is a dwarf conifer which is primarily valued in the garden for its broadly spreading habit of growth. Its relatively fine texture sets it apart from other landscape plants with less refined foliage.
This is a relatively low maintenance shrub. When pruning is necessary, it is recommended to only trim back the new growth of the current season, other than to remove any dieback. Deer tolerant. Grows 6-8 inches a year.
