Acer palmatum 'Kiyohime' is a beautiful, low-growing, elegant tree for landscape use or along borders. This dwarf variety is known for its interesting leaf coloring. The early spring leaves are beautiful. The edges are tinged with an orange-red, which is lightly and delicately shaded into the center of the light green leaf. Rich green leaves dominate the summer season. The small deeply cut lobed palmate leaves are highly ornamental and turn outstanding shades of yellow-orange in the fall.
Sun Needs: Full sun/part shade. Important to think about light exposure. Too much light and/or heat can damage delicate leaves. For best color, most maples need a location with part day's sun. Morning sun and afternoon part shade is ideal. Protect from windy locations.
