Forsythia x intermedia 'Lynwood Gold' is a vigorous medium-sized shrub of stiffly upright habit, with a profusion of bright-yellow, four-petaled flowers which appear before the leaves in early to mid-spring. The foliage of narrowly, ovate, sharply serrated, dark green leaves remains attractive throughout the season and turns yellow with purple tinges in the fall. This forsythia is one of the most reliable. Low maintenance, this plant is deer resistant and fairly trouble-free.  It provides habitat for bees, birds and other wildlife.
