'Merrill' is a hybrid Magnolia that is covered in stunning fragrant white star-shaped flowers with yellow eyes at the ends of branches in mid spring before the leaves. It's magnificent in flower, resembling a cloud. It is very hardy, fast growing, and flowers from a young age. The fruits are showy pink pods displayed from yearly to mid fall. The dark green pointy leaves turn coppery-yellow in fall. Like most magnolias, it prefers a moist, fertile and well-drained soil that is slightly acidic. Protect from strong wind to enhance and prolong the flowering season. Attracts bees, butterflies. Deer resistant.
