Wonderfully fragrant, Viburnum x burkwoodii 'Mohawk' (Burkwood Viburnum) is a compact, upright, multi-stemmed, semi-evergreen shrub with ovate, glossy, dark green leaves that turn attractive shades of orange-red to burgundy in the fall. In mid-spring, red flower buds open to very spicy fragrant white flowers, arranged in snowball clusters. Lasting up to 2 weeks. they give way to clusters of red berries which ripen black in mid to late summer. Tolerates a wide range of soil types. Low maintenance and attractive to butterflies, hummingbirds, and birds. To have the best cross-pollination and fruit display, plant in groups. A backcross of V. x burkwoodii and V. carlesii.
