'Monge' is a Lemoine lilac that was first introduced in 1913. It is noted for its spring (April-May) bloom of intensely fragrant, single deep reddish-purple flowers that bloom in showy panicles (each to 9" long). The flowers are excellent for cutting and attract butterflies and hummingbirds from afar. A favorite among many!
