Another of the profuse blooming Lemoine lilacs, this cultivar exhibits the same hardiness and vigor. Pocohontas transitions from deep maroon buds to a rich violet color. This early flowering lilac blooms in mid-spring (fragrant single flowers), about 7-10 days earlier than common lilacs. Uniform, heavy-blooming, and disease tolerant, this highly popular lilac makes an excellent specimen or background plant and can be used as an informal hedge or screen. Attracts butterflies and hummingbirds and is deer resistant.
