Native to the swampy areas of Eastern North America, 'Red Sprite' is a dwarf dense shrub with excellent year round-interest. The deciduous holly produces abundant small greenish-white flowers in late spring and early summer, followed by a profusion of bright red berries in fall and winter. The foliage consists of toothed, glossy, dark green leaves.' Red Sprite' is a female plant and must be planted with 'Jim Dandy' in order to produce the red berries.
