A profusion of vivid deep pink, ruffled flowers with hot pink spots cover this shrub in mid spring. An excellent evergreen shrub with a dense growth habit. Glossy, dark green foliage turns a dark burgundy color in winter. Needs highly acidic and organic soil that is well drained. Prefers morning sun and afternoon shade. This is a relatively low maintenance shrub, and should only be pruned after flowering to avoid removing any of the current season's flowers. Attracts butterflies.
