The graceful Styrax, Japanese Snowbell, is a deciduous tree has dainty, bell-shaped white flowers in late spring. Flowers give way to greenish-brown, olive-shaped drupes that often persist into late autumn. The small, oblong leaves are dark glossy green, and are held alternately on the branches. Fall color is yellow. Best grown in organically rich, acidic, medium moisture, well-drained soils.
