A small to medium sized small-statured shade tree with creamy yellowish-white fragrant flowers in late spring to early summer. The dark green leaves have a finer texture than other tree lilacs. It is low maintenance, hardy and adaptable. It is not particular as to soil type or pH. The striking reddish-brown bark adds winter interest. Highly tolerant of urban pollutions. Insignificant yellow fall foliage.
