An interesting native plant with aromatic foliage that resembles ferns. The species is in fact a woody shrub. This beautiful plant has a delicate look that will give that exotic, lush feel to your garden and enhance its beauty with its luxurious green leaves. It is often found along roadsides and is capable of fixing its own nitrogen. Sweetfern is low maintenance and tolerates many conditions including drought, wet sites (not sitting water), and wind. It can even grow in sheltered seaside locations. It does not transplant well so choose a location carefully. Salt, drought, and urban tolerant. Attract wildlife. Deer and rabbit resistant.
