Pinus mugo 'Valley Cushion TRUdwarf® Mugo Pine Pinus mugo ‘Valley Cushion’ offers a spreading habit to the mix of TRUdwarf® mugo choices. One of the very smallest of the dwarf pines, this variety develops its extremely dense and compact mounded shape very slowly over many years, also has very short needles; a superb choice for miniature effect in rock or alpine gardens. The very compact, dense pine stays low and flat, much wider than tall. Reddish, new buds complement the short, emerald green needles. It is not particular as to soil type or pH, and is able to handle environmental salt. It is highly tolerant of urban pollution and will even thrive in inner city environments.
