White spruce is one of the hardiest spruces. It is very tough and adaptable to many conditions. including wind, heat, cold, and drought. a conical pyramidal evergreen, with compact, regular branching. White Spruce is primarily valued in the landscape for its distinctively pyramidal habit of growth. It has bluish-green evergreen foliage which emerges light green in spring. The needles remain bluish-green throughout the winter. The smooth gray bark adds an interesting dimension to the landscape. The lower branches sweep the ground and whitish-green needles. Small cones are concentrated in the upper crown.
