'Winter Gem' is perfect for small areas. The small oval, rounded leaves turn bronze in the winter adding seasonal interest. It is best grown in average, medium moisture, well drained soil in full sun to partial shade.  It is tolerant of pruning and shearing. An added bonus.....deer don't particularly care for boxwood, which is one of the reasons they are so popular in this area.
