4th of July Specials – June 28, 2012
Greetings!
Spruce up your gardens and landscape with some great savings we have "cooked up" for the 4th of July! This weekend we are featuring 20% OFF all Perennials, including all Grasses and 20% OFF all Hybrid Tea and Floribunda Roses.
It is definitely not too late in the season to plant; the only caveat is that you have to be mindful of watering. Proper watering is an essential part of success in the landscape with newly planted materials. CLICK HERE for more detailed information in our Watering Guide to see you safely through the summer and all year.
Whether you are planning on planting Roses this weekend or if you already have established bushes, there are a couple of things you should know about Rose care. As Roses reach the end of their first bloom, you will want to deadhead the blooms at the 1st set of five leaves and prune at an angle to keep the canes strong and to encourage a second bloom later in the season. Keep a close eye on your roses for Black Spot and Powdery Mildew which are direct consequences of the humid and rainy weather. You will want to combat these with a natural copper soap product early or late in the day and not in direct sun. If you would like more information, you can always stop in and ask. If you would like more detailed information on pruning your roses, CLICK HERE.
Before too long, the Japanese Beetles will be appearing. Your best defense is to apply Sevin. When you employ beetle traps, you are actually attracting beetles into your yard with pheramones and they can consequently lay eggs in your lawn before they head for the trap! We can help you with the right solution for all of your garden pests.
Starting in July, we will be rolling out an informative new feature on Facebook as well as displayed in the store that will essentially be "A Tour of the Nursery". Every week, a different plant or tree will be featured with lots of attendant information as to specifics about the plant, it's place in the landscape, etc. You won't want to miss any of the weekly "Stops" on our "Tour" as we wend our way through the Nursery!
For expert advice, quality stock and great selection, you can always count on Stratham Circle Nursery. See you this weekend!
Sincerely,
The Stratham Circle Nursery Staff
